Now, I’m guessing everyone has experienced this; you come in from work and put your keys down, you get up in the morning and ….”where are my keys!?”, are they where you think you left them? Nope… someone must of moved them! Right? Perhaps not.
So here’s my first hot tip to ‘Remembering where you left something’, it’s very simple to do but you need to practice it for about 7 days before it starts to become a habit.
Tip: Whenever you put something down which you may need later, create a very quick association, this should only take a second.
For example, if you put your keys down beside the microwave (it happens…) – imagine a giant set of keys smashing through the microwave (the microwave may scream at this point), this image will stand out in your mind so when you go to find your keys you’ll remember exactly where they are – simple.
So next time you go looking for something and it isn’t where you thought it should be, it might just be that it was the kids that moved them and not your mind playing tricks.

This subject fascinates me. Great tip and just the other day I took a phone call from dad whilst I was really wanting to continue working on a programming problem. Anyway, dad asked, that when I visit mum in hospital later in the day, bring some bananas. I imagined the opening of my car door only to see the drivers seat as a giant banana, unpeeled slightly, then proceeding to sit down but being fully engulfed in the banana.
As it turned out I remembered the bananas, had them in my possession before getting to the car. The side effect is that getting into my car for some reason I think of bananas….so it works.
